EFAD 28 General Meeting

EFAD General Meeting afternoon session (13:30 – 18:00, 28 September 2017) in World Trade Centre, Beursplein 37, 3011 AA Rotterdam, The Netherlands

During the General Meeting afternoon session delegates (two from each EFAD member association or Education Associate Member) will have the opportunity to attend two of the following workshops:

  • 1. Pathway and toolkit for registration of Dietitians
  • 2. Updating education standards and competences (10 years after Roskilde)
  • 3. Communication and publicity plans for action
  • 4. European Dietetic Action Plan
  • 5. Associations, growth,develoment strategic decisions; action planning

The workshops will be followed by a delegates reception and „speed date”.

EFAD is launching a new European Specialist Dietetic Network for Physical Activity. This ESDN will address both exercise as an important lifestyle choice and sport as an activity where nutrition can influence achievement. This network will support all dietitians in adding physical activity counselling to their competences”.

Health ministers and high-level representatives of the 53 Member States of the WHO European Region as well as partner organizations and civil society will take part in the 67th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe in Budapest, Hungary, on 11–14 September 2017.

The 4-day programme also includes progress reports on the implementation of the European food and nutrition action plan 2015–2020,

The session will be webcast live, and there will be real-time coverage on Twitter using the hashtag #RC67.

Draft Joint Statement available for input

A first draft version of the joint statement on the employment of people with chronic diseases is now available. If any EFAD member has a view they wouldwish to contribute to EFADs response please let secretariat@efad.org know before 1 October.
